Tonne Bag Softwood Airdried

This bag contains 0.73 cubic metres of ready to use firewood, packed in a 100×80× 80cm tonne bag. The logs measure 25cm in length, a size chosen to make loading, lighting and maintaining the fire straightforward and efficient. With a 20% moisture content, the wood burns cleanly and reduces the build-up of soot or tar in the appliance.

The load consists of softwood, known for being lighter and containing more resins than hardwood. Because of these characteristics, softwood ignites with minimal effort and reaches working temperature quickly, which makes it well-suited for everyday heating, fire-starting, or situations where you need a flame to develop rapidly. It offers reliable heat output and maintains a bright, stable flame without generating unnecessary smoke.

In comparison, hardwood has a higher density and burns for longer, but is slower to light and requires more initial heat. Softwood, on the other hand, is more responsive and easier to manage during regular use, especially when frequent re-lighting or quick heat is needed.
