Hello, I’m Peregrine McCall, Founder and CEO of Dublin Logs Ltd. In 2017, I founded Dublin Logs Ltd in Calverstown, Co. Kildare, with a singular vision: to provide top-quality, sustainable firewood to the people of Ireland. However, my journey into the firewood business began much earlier—in 2014, to be precise. Noticing the high prices and poor quality of firewood in shops, I felt compelled to launch Kildare Logs as a superior alternative, delivering high-quality Irish firewood seamlessly to your doorstep. Kildare Logs operated as a separate entity until 2022, when I merged it with Dublin Logs Ltd, retaining the brand and website.

Our Journey

From a modest beginning with a small van, a chainsaw, and a wood splitter attached to my father’s tractor, Dublin Logs Ltd has evolved into a trusted name in the industry. We have now served thousands of satisfied customers across Dublin and Kildare. Our processing machinery has expanded to include two firewood processors, tractors, and a loader. We now deliver our logs with a Mercedes Sprinter van equipped with a tail lift and an electric pallet truck, making deliveries smoother and more efficient than ever.

We are a family-run Irish business, and our team—Peregrine, Bianca, Agnis, and Jacke—is the lifeblood of our operations. All in our thirties, we bring a youthful, energetic approach to the traditional firewood business. But it’s not just about youth; it’s about passion, commitment, and a deep-rooted respect for nature and sustainability.

Sustainability: More Than Just a Buzzword

Sustainability isn’t just a term we throw around; it’s the cornerstone of our operations. We are committed to using FSC-certified firewood, ensuring that our products are as environmentally responsible as they are high-quality. We source locally-grown Irish hardwoods mainly from Kildare and Meath, along with softwood that is often sourced from Wicklow but also right here on our farm in Co. Kildare. We also import kiln-dried logs from Eastern Europe, ensuring that our suppliers align with our environmental objectives through independent checks such as FSC certification.

Facilities: A Commitment to Quality

Our facilities in Calverstown have expanded significantly, reflecting our commitment to quality. With four large sheds and four industrial polytunnels—some up to 100 feet long—we have ample storage and drying spaces. Unlike common practices, we don’t cut and sell our firewood directly from the stack. Pre-Scheduled Deliveries for Your Convenience

All scheduling is handled by Jacke, who contacts customers before delivery to organise days and times that suit you, allowing you to plan your week without unnecessary waiting.

Jacke is more than just a scheduler; she’s your personal firewood assistant. Whether you need advice on choosing the right type of firewood or have questions about your order, Jacke is available via phone or WhatsApp to make your experience as seamless as possible.

Certifications and Future Plans

We are in the process of obtaining the Wood Fuel Quality Assurance (WFQA) certificate and an EPA number. These certifications, expected to be received by the end of the year, will provide our customers with an added level of assurance, knowing they are using top-quality, sustainably harvested timber. Looking ahead, we plan to become a wholesaler of Irish firewood and continue our expansion to meet growing demand.
